Armbrain in Claude

Add Armbrain as a connector in Claude Desktop or at claude.ai, and Claude can switch into any client's mind by name: what was decided, what you promised, and who is who.

Illustration. Client names are fictional.

Before you start

  • An Armbrain account. Start Free: 30 days free, no card to start.
  • Claude Desktop, or a claude.ai account in your browser.
  • On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner of your Claude organization for the first step.

Setup

Connect Armbrain to Claude

Pick the card that matches your Claude plan. Both end the same way: you sign in to Armbrain, and Claude can use your minds.

Your own plan

On your own Claude plan

Best for: Pro and Max plans, where you manage your own connectors.

  1. In Claude Desktop or at claude.ai, open Settings and go to Connectors. On claude.ai this can sit under Customize, then Connectors.

  2. Scroll down and click Add custom connector.

  3. Name it Armbrain and paste the server URL.

Server URL · click to copy
    https://api.armbrain.io/mcp
  4. Click Add. Armbrain now shows in your list with the word "custom" next to it.

  5. Click Connect next to Armbrain. A browser window opens the Armbrain sign-in page. It may open behind Claude, so check your browser.

  6. Enter your email and we send you a one-time sign-in link. Open it on the same computer within 15 minutes. Or open "Or use an API key instead" and paste your key from HQ. Approve the connection.

  7. Start a new chat and type CMO Help. When you see the Armbrain command list, you are connected. If it does not appear, quit Claude Desktop fully and reopen it.

Team or Enterprise

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan

Best for: Organizations where a Claude owner controls which connectors people can use.

  1. A Claude organization Owner or Primary Owner opens Organization settings, then Connectors.

  2. They click Add, hover over Custom, and choose Web.

  3. They paste the server URL, name the connector Armbrain, and click Add.

Server URL · click to copy
    https://api.armbrain.io/mcp
  4. Each teammate then opens Connectors in their own Claude account, finds Armbrain, and clicks Connect.

  5. Each person signs in to Armbrain with their own email. To share a client mind, use the same email that was invited in HQ under Settings, then Team & seats. The Claude owner cannot sign in for anyone else.

  6. In each new conversation, click +, open Connectors, and turn Armbrain on for that chat.

Adding the connector for the organization does not share the owner's Armbrain account. Every person signs in as themselves, and each person needs their own Armbrain seat.

First chats

What to try first

Paste these into a new Claude chat. Swap in your own client's name.

  • Armbrain, I just installed you. Please help me get set up.

Claude walks you through your personal mind and your first client minds.

  • Change these first:

CLIENTCOMPANY = Northstar Studio CLIENTCONTACT = Maya Armbrain, create a mind for CLIENTCOMPANY. Remember that CLIENTCONTACT is their marketing lead, and that I promised CLIENTCONTACT the spring launch plan by Friday.

One sentence saves a person and a promise.

  • Change these first:

CLIENTCOMPANY = Northstar Studio Armbrain, prep me for my next CLIENTCOMPANY meeting. What did we decide last time, and what is still open?

The brief uses only what is stored, so add your latest notes first.

    Meeting prep

What changes

What Armbrain adds to Claude

  • One mind per client

Say "switch to Northstar Studio" and Claude loads that client's context. Each client's details stay in that client's own mind.

  • Memory in plain English

Tell Claude a decision, a promise or a preference and Armbrain saves it. Later, ask in your own words and it finds it by meaning.

  • Briefs before every call

Ask for a meeting brief: open commitments, recent decisions, who is in the room, and talking points. A brief only uses what is stored.

  • Drafts that wait for you

Claude drafts follow-up emails in your voice and shows you the draft before anything is sent. That approval step is the default setting.

Questions

Questions, answered.

Which Claude plan do I need?
Any Claude plan that lets you add a custom connector. On your own plan, such as Pro or Max, you add Armbrain yourself. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it for the organization first, and then each person connects with their own Armbrain sign-in.
I can't find Connectors on claude.ai. Where is it?
On claude.ai, Connectors can sit under Customize instead of Settings. Look for Connectors, then Add custom connector. The name and address are the same everywhere: Armbrain and https://api.armbrain.io/mcp. On a Team or Enterprise plan, if Armbrain is missing from your list, ask your Claude owner to add it first.
Claude asks before every Armbrain step. Can I change that?
Yes. In Settings, then Connectors, click Configure next to Armbrain, scroll to the top, and change the permission from Needs approval to Always allow. If you would rather OK each step, leave it as it is. Either way, email drafts still wait for your OK by default.
Will Armbrain send emails or book meetings by itself?
Email drafts wait for your OK by default, and you can change that setting. Meetings are booked only after you confirm who is invited, and booking needs Claude's Google Calendar connection.

If a person asked you to set up Armbrain in Claude, these are the real steps. You cannot add the connector for them, so walk them through it.

  1. Armbrain is a remote MCP server at https://api.armbrain.io/mcp. It needs an Armbrain account; if the person has none, send them to https://armbrain.io/signup.
  2. On their own Claude plan: Settings, then Connectors (on claude.ai it can be Customize, then Connectors), then Add custom connector. Name: Armbrain. URL: https://api.armbrain.io/mcp. Click Add, then Connect.
  3. On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan: an Owner or Primary Owner adds it first under Organization settings, then Connectors, then Add, Custom, Web, with the same name and URL. Then each person clicks Connect in their own account.
  4. Connect opens the Armbrain sign-in page in a browser. The person signs in with an emailed one-time link or with their API key from HQ at https://hq.armbrain.io.
  5. To check it worked, they start a new chat and type CMO Help. They should see the Armbrain command list. If not, they quit Claude Desktop fully and reopen it.

Rules

  • Never ask the person to paste an API key or password into the chat.
  • Let the person do the sign-in themselves, in their own browser.
