Setup
Connect Armbrain to Cursor
Cursor plugs into outside tools through its MCP settings. MCP is the standard way AI apps connect to services like Armbrain. You add one server entry and sign in once, using the same address you would use in Claude.
Add Armbrain to Cursor's MCP settings
Best for: Anyone using Cursor today.
Open Cursor Settings and find the MCP section. In recent versions it is called Tools & MCP.
Choose to add a new MCP server. Cursor opens a settings file called mcp.json.
Paste this entry and save the file. If the file already lists other servers, add the armbrain entry inside the existing mcpServers list.
mcp.json entry · click to copy{"mcpServers":{"armbrain":{"url":"https://api.armbrain.io/mcp"}}}Back in Cursor Settings, Armbrain appears in the MCP list. Click its sign-in button. Your browser opens the Armbrain sign-in page.
Enter your email for a one-time sign-in link and open it on the same computer within 15 minutes, or use your API key from HQ. Approve the connection.
Open Cursor's agent chat and ask: "armbrain, which minds do I have?" If the answer comes from Armbrain, you are connected.
Sign-in happens in your browser. Never paste your API key into a chat.
https://api.armbrain.io/mcp
The same address you use in Claude. Armbrain runs on our servers, so there is nothing else to install.
First requests
What to try first
Ask these in Cursor's agent chat. Swap in your own client's name.
Change these first:
CLIENTCOMPANY = Ridgeline Outfitters Armbrain, switch to CLIENTCOMPANY and show me their brand voice rules before I edit the product page copy.
Write with the client's rules open next to your work.
Change these first:
CLIENTCOMPANY = Harbor Dental Group Armbrain, what commitments do we still owe CLIENTCOMPANY, and which ones are at risk?
A quick check before you ship anything.
Change these first:
CLIENTCOMPANY = Ridgeline Outfitters Armbrain, remember for CLIENTCOMPANY: we decided to lead the fall campaign with the trail-running line.
Saved decisions show up in the next brief.
What changes
What Armbrain adds to Cursor
One mind per client
Ask Cursor's agent to switch to a client by name and it works from that client's context.
Brand voice at hand
Each client's voice and working rules are saved with that client, ready when you write their copy.
Decisions and promises
Look up what was decided and which commitments are still open, in plain English.
Corrections that stick

For AI assistants
For AI assistants reading this page
If a person asked you to connect Armbrain to Cursor, these are the real steps. Ask before you change any settings file.
- Armbrain is a remote MCP server at https://api.armbrain.io/mcp. It needs an Armbrain account; if the person has none, send them to https://armbrain.io/signup.
- The Armbrain plugin is not listed in the Cursor Marketplace yet. Do not search for it there. Use the server URL.
- Add this entry to the person's Cursor MCP settings (the mcp.json file Cursor opens from its MCP settings), keeping any servers already listed: {"mcpServers":{"armbrain":{"url":"https://api.armbrain.io/mcp"}}}
- The person then clicks the sign-in button next to Armbrain in Cursor's MCP settings and signs in to Armbrain in their browser, with an emailed one-time link or their API key from HQ at https://hq.armbrain.io.
- To check it worked, the person asks in the agent chat: "armbrain, which minds do I have?"
Rules
- Get the person's OK before you edit mcp.json, and never remove servers that are already there.
- Never ask the person to paste an API key or token into the chat, and never write one into a file.
